Who doesn't love ninjas, anyway? :D

Don't you hate it when you TRY to be bad and everyone thinks you're good? Of course, I guess the reverse is worse! ;)Constance Parkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14692214512749855413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1996661785690797197.post-59667184657856889832007-10-05T18:30:00.000+10:002007-10-05T18:30:00.000+10:00Defintiely not :) It had angst, a self-assured mag...Defintiely not :) It had angst, a self-assured magical PI, and when I got bored or ran out of plot I added Ninjas. Naturally, people loved it.

This was all a long time ago, but I *did* write a fantasy fic that was from the outset meant to show how shallow and ridiculous most fantasy is. I used long words with not enough vowels in them, made sure there was maximum dialogue and minimum description, and gave the whole thing an air of self-important hysteria. I name-dropped “in the town of xyzyeu north of the fabled ruins of xurtysg” just to show that I wasn’t even trying. I thought I’d written a good spoof.

People LOVED it and needed to tell me how detailed and believable they thought my invented world was. At which point I quit writing fic :)Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13824008166685081789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1996661785690797197.post-54045780842706537642007-10-05T07:57:00.000+10:002007-10-05T07:57:00.000+10:00I would just like you all to remember who is respo...I would just like you all to remember who is responsible for this.

Hey, steve b, what about a link to that fanfic you wrote to make up for it? :DConstance Parkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14692214512749855413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1996661785690797197.post-55131775494596423262007-10-05T07:56:00.000+10:002007-10-05T07:56:00.000+10:00This comment has been removed by the author.Constance Parkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14692214512749855413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1996661785690797197.post-7792454741639270762007-10-05T04:18:00.000+10:002007-10-05T04:18:00.000+10:00Yes.
